Profile: Joanna Bowring
Joanna brings to Texprint her passion for textiles and colour, plus considerable experience working for major UK and international textile and apparel companies.
Always a strong supporter of Texprint, Joanna was invited to become their Creative Director in 2000; welcoming the opportunity to become more closely involved as Sponsorship Director in 2008.
Joanna has long been a leading member of the British Textile Colour Group, which represents the UK at Intercolor, the international colour congress that takes place twice a year around the world.
Previously Colour and Textile Consultant to Marks & Spencer Womenwear Design, joining M&S full time in 2001. Appointed head of Seasonal Trends in Central Design in 2001 until the department was disbanded in 2004, when she rejoined Womenswear as Colour Coordinator until retiring in 2007.
Joanna previously enjoyed many years with one of the UK’s leading textile groups, Courtaulds Textiles. Initially as design consultant to Belmont Weaving, part of Courtaulds Textiles group, then as Senior Designer and later as Design Director of Courtaulds Apparel Fabrics.
Prior to this Creative Manager of Nigel French Enterprises – one of the leading London-based colour and trend consultancies – also Colour and Fabric Editor of Prism, a publication targeted at the Japanese market, and part of the NFEL group.
Formerly with Deryck Healey International, one of the first design consultancies in London specialising in all aspects of fashion, textiles and interiors for major clients in the UK, USA, Europe and Japan.

Joanna studied textile design at Middlesex University, followed by a Masters degree at the Royal College of Art.
