Trained in Britain. The 24 TEXPRINT 2013 designers were selected following a rigorous interview process from over 200 applicants submitted by British colleges and universities at both BA and MA levels. These are the designers who have shown outstanding work in their chosen discipline, and who have impressed the Texprint interview panels with their creativity and desire to succeed in the professional world. Texprint’s aim is to promote their skills to the industry, media and related organisations that can help their career launch.
My collection of passementerie combines luxurious and unusual materials with a contemporary colour palette, demonstrating a quirky and individual approach to an age-old craft.
My collection of richly embellished couture fabrics explores experimental techniques and hand finished detailing, and is inspired by the shape, texture and expressive nature of birds.
By juxtaposing colour, pattern and stitch techniques my brand Winston updates and makes wearable classic twin-set knits, offering something fresh and innovative for today’s discerning consumer.
Inspired by my aerial photographs of Iceland my work reflects the textures, structures and patterns of the landscape. To achieve this I have used a variety of yarns and plating techniques to manipulate the construction of the knit.
By taking inspiration from and modernising traditional lacework techniques, and playing with Marie Antoinette decadence and outer space influences, I have created a uniquely crafted and modern aesthetic.

My collection of intricately drawn hybrid animal illustrations was inspired by a visit to India, the gods Ganesh and Hanuman; also the wonders of mutation and preserved creatures.
Florence Angelica Colson
My love of highly detailed drawing and painting with gouache, translated through digital manipulation, informs my boldly coloured, intricate and ornamental collections.
Inspired by objects and photos collected from markets and car boot sales, my work plays with texture, colour and materials to create a hand made, crafted nostalgic style.
Observational drawing informs much of my work. I feel this way of recording the new and exciting places I visit is much more dynamic than simply taking a photograph.
My work aims to revive traditional Welsh weave in an original way, fusing a contemporary colour palette with urban patterning and championing the rich and luxurious qualities of natural fibres.
Inspired by Savile Row opulence juxtaposed with crowd protest photography and group animal migration, I explore traditional/luxe yarns alongside less conventional materials such as horsehair and plastic.

My interests include sport horses, animals and all disciplines of the decorative arts which inspire my drawing and design work. I especially enjoy working collaboratively on bespoke projects.
My research into how living organisms use pattern, colour and texture in order to survive, protect and attract has inspired a vibrant textural collection designed for luxury interior accessories.
