The UK Fashion & Textile Association brings together designers, manufacturers, agents and retailers to promote their businesses and our industry throughout the UK and internationally. Providing a voice and meeting place for suppliers of fashion & textiles providing, UKFT provides practical support, export advice, information exchange and a voice - to government and to retailers.
Membership of UKFT allows companies and associations access to a community of contacts throughout the fashion and textile system. Each specialist area of the industry is represented by a sectoral group, which contributes, setting policy and strategy for UKFT.
UKFT aims to keep members informed about issues facing the industry and to help them develop their businesses. To this end they produce a monthly e-newsletter, e-shots on breaking news and business opportunities, and offer a series of seminars on industry-specific subjects and overseas markets.
UKFT has launched its new network for the next generation rising up in the fashion and textile industry; UKFT Rise. UKFT Rise is part of UKFT's commitment to support the future of the industry by advising and bringing together people who have started businesses or want to know how to grow their career within the industry and stand out from the crowd.
UKFT chairman Peter Lucas said: "We spoke to many people in the industry who said there was a lack of resource for the younger generation. Our peers built their businesses on networking with customers, competitors and suppliers, building strong career-long relationships. This is difficult to do in today's fast paced business world and these relationships are harder to form."
UKFT Rise will start as a quarterly evening event with a selection of inspirational speakers from across the sector. Events will be open to anyone working in the fashion and textile industry. To register interest for the next event contact firstname.lastname@example.org
