SPONSOR - The Woolmark Company

The Woolmark Company is a not-for-profit company which invests in research, development and marketing along the supply chain for wool - from wool growers through to fashion and retail.
The Woolmark Company owns the Woolmark brand one of the most recognised textile symbols in the world. The value of the brand is well established globally in the apparel, interior textiles and home laundry sectors. The Woolmark logo was created in 1964 by Francesco Saroglia and the design is intended to represent the softness, elegance and modernity of wool. An inspiration for consumer confidence, the Woolmark brand is a promise of quality.
In addition to most generously supporting Texprint as a Foundation Sponsor, The Woolmark Company sponsors the Woolmark Texprint Award in support of The Campaign for Wool.
This award will be judged and the winner announced at Indigo September 2013. Not only will the winner receive a £1,000 prize, they will also receive extensive training on wool from their closest Woolmark International office.
In order to be considered for the award, successful candidates will need to include 100% Merino wool or majority Merino wool blends (minimum 60% Merino wool) with natural fibres in their portfolio of design work - whether printed, woven, knitted and/or mixed media. They will be judged for this prize on the basis of their design work with the Merino wool fibre.
For further information on the Woolmark Texprint Award and Merino Wool please contact: Rebecca Sharp, The Woolmark Company, Somerset House, Strand, London WC2R 1LA / email: rebecca.sharp@wool.com
